Artist statement

Photography enables me to look with great attention to detail. If I photograph something then it exists, what I don’t photograph passes me by and remains unseen. There are some things (and this could be many a thing) that from a certain angle with a particular framing and a particular light can certainly not be overlooked. I want to collect these moments and find what becomes visible from a selection of these images.

In a photo, I like to suspect an event, rather than to see the event itself, in actuality I never quite know how things work. I like to ask questions.

I don’t need to travel far for my photography; it’s about a challenge to continually perceive my immediate surroundings with a particular clarity.

Whilst making a portrait of someone, I’m looking for the moment that the person has full trust and nerve to be 100% present.
