Janneke Aronson

Janneke Aronson (Oudelande, 1988)

Artist statement

There is no such thing as a completely autonomous person or object within photography; everything is influenced due to an unnatural presence. The subtlety of this discomposure draws my attention, as I know the images I capture exist by the grace of it.

I am a documentary photographer whose work is distinguished by focus, calmness and a certain monumentality. Through photography I am always searching for a moment of tension within surrender of the subject, both with portraits of people and portraits of landscapes.
